[ Hurriedly shoving his phone in his pocket, Nico offers Will a McDonald’s bag giving off lukewarm heat. Then he takes Will by the wrist. ]

[ He doesn’t want the choice to be his, because he’s dreading the conversation. The thrill of finding kids who think he’s cool without trying to fit in made him want to fit in. Nico thinks it’s on a collision course with reality now. ]
[ He’s already mostly in shadows leaning against the wall. Nico pulls Will in closer, and the shadows twist to enshadow them.
Then it’s like they were never there, which will make an interesting story for the drivers trapped in the the drive through.
Where they are is a copse of trees near Belvedere Castle in Central Park. Nico didn’t want to go too far south. He… hasn’t heard anything calling him since he got here, but he doesn’t want to get too close to the Underworld. Just in case.
He wobbles a little. It always feels like more when he’s in a dark mood. ]
I’m okay. But I’m not stopping for ice cream on the way back.
[It's still cold as hell despite being in more weather-appropriate clothing, but he doesn't show any of his discomfort. That's a lot easier to do when Will sees his boyfriend wobbling and doesn't hesitate to reach out to steady him. There's another small smile on the son of Apollo's face.]

Still... the implication isn't lost on him. Sally's not here, neither is Camp Half-Blood, and Naomi Solace isn't here. It's not so much of a shock as it is a quiet acceptance for Will. After all, if all of them had been here, Nico would've brought them to camp.]
